◆劇情簡介：


       誰是我們這個時代的英雄？政壇名人？電影明星？體育明星？也許吧……可日常生活中的英雄呢？是辛辛苦苦養育我們的父母。在孝子們眼裡，母親才是最值得崇敬的「超級英雄」。

      來瞧瞧我們的「超級英雄」Frankie Heck（Patricia Heaton扮演）。她有三重身份：賢妻，良母，二手車推銷員。她有什麼特別的地方？她住在美國中部，過著中產階級的生活，歲數接近中年，她的生活裡一切都帶個「中」字。她有什麼「超能力」？每天早上把丈夫Mike（Neil Flynn扮演）伺候得舒舒服服的，然後把三個孩子平平安安地送出家門！

      Frankie Heck和Mike一輩子都住在小鎮Jasper（印第安納州）上，正好夾在兩座工廠的中間－－一座是糕點廠，一座是輪胎廠。 Jasper的居民呼吸什麼空氣，得看當天刮什麼風。也許你上午聞到的是甜甜的蛋糕味，下午就變成了刺鼻的橡膠味。

      Mike是個言語不多，但是出言必驚人的男人，他在鎮上的採石場擔任經理。而Frankie在當地一家二手車行工作，業績排名第三。不過，車行里也就只有三個銷售員……她也許工作能力不足，當不了女強人，也不可能出人頭地。可只要回到家裡，她「大展拳腳」的時刻就來臨了。

      Frankie的大兒子Axel（Charlie McDermott扮演）喜歡做白日夢，喜歡槍砲與玫瑰樂隊，喜歡一切反傳統的東西；女兒Sue（Eden Sher扮演）做事總是毛手毛腳，雖然愛好廣泛，但卻一事無成；只有7歲的小兒子Brick（Atticus Shaffer扮演）除了自己的書包外再無其他朋友。

      這是一部描述家庭關係的情景喜劇，沒有跌宕起伏的劇情，也沒有浮華的氣氛。本劇用平實的故事告訴觀眾：家庭總是第一位的。不管你做什麼，都應該團結家人、形成家庭合力。
