【劇情簡介】：

這是新劇《觸摸未來》充滿希望的預設由編劇兼原作者Tim King（其主要作品《英雄》、《遇見喬丹》）、執行製片人Peter Chernin（其主要作品《傑西駕到》、《冰魔島》）和Katherine Pope（其主要作品《傑西駕到》、《冰魔島》）聯手打造。

該劇將科學、靈性和情感融合在一起，描述了全球看似不相干的人們在看不見的地方彼此相互影響的故事。故事的中心是Martin Bohm（Kiefer Sutherland飾），他是個鰥夫，也是個單親爸爸，他一直因為無法與情感突變11歲的兒子Jack（David Mazouz飾）交流而煩惱不已。 Martin是一個有愛心，機智，考慮周全的人，他用盡所有方法試著接近自己的兒子卻都以失敗告終。 Jake從不說話，很少表露情感，而且從不讓別人觸碰他，包括他的父親Martin。 Jake痴迷於數字和被丟棄的電話號碼。他在他經常使用的筆記本上寫下一長串一長串的數字。社工Clea Hopkins（Gugu Mbatha-Raw飾）認為Jake的現狀已經嚴重到Martin沒有辦法控制的地步了。在她眼前的，是一個沒辦法控制自己的兒子反而被兒子掌控生命的男子。她覺得是時候讓政府來干預這個家庭問題。於是她不顧Martin幾近絕望的反對，把Jake送到看護所。但是當Martin遇到Arthur Teller（Danny Glover飾）之後，一切都改變了。 Arthur Teller是一名教授，專門研究對數字有特殊能力的孩子。 Martin得知了Jake有著超乎常人的天賦，他能掌握地球上所有看似不相干事物的模式。而正當Martin迫切地想要與Jack直接交流的時候，Jack卻用數字，而非語言聯繫了父親。於是Martin意識到他需要破解這些數字，找出這些數字背後的含義。當他解開這個謎題的時候，他就能按照Jack預言的那種模式那樣，幫助全球的人們互相聯繫彼此了。 Martin尋找與兒子聯繫的方式會改變人類的命運。
