　　原作是宮尾登美子的《天璋院篤姬》。主人公是江戶幕府第十三代將軍德川家定的正室天璋院（篤姬）。這是2006年的『功名十字路』相隔兩年後，歷史上第七部以女性為主角的大河劇。% b. H5 M' T* N: T
　　這是2004年播放的『新選組』以來第二部講述幕末時代的作品，也是2005年的『義經』之後第二部宮尾登美子的原作。) l' _' m$ f$ W6 }, @
　　主演的宮崎葵是初次主演大河劇，同時也是大河劇歷史上最年輕的大河劇演員。一般演員都是出演晚間日劇出道的，而宮崎葵是出演晨間連續劇出道的，以這樣的身份來出演大河劇在NHK歷史上也屬首次。公仔箱論壇/ q/ }3 B) h3 c1 w

　　篤姬生於鹿兒島城下。嘉永6年（1853年）成為了薩摩藩主·島津齋彬的養女，同年從鹿兒島轉到了江戶藩邸。之所以做了表兄齋彬的養女，是為了日後可以為了進入將軍家。在這之前大奧就對島津家提過親。據說大奧此行為目的是，對前前代將軍·德川家齋迎娶了島津家出身的御台所（廣大院）後長壽且子嗣眾多一事的效仿。當時的將軍·德川家定的正室接連死去，而家定自身也體弱多病，連一個子嗣也沒有。公仔箱論壇4 \8 y* E" j* [# r
　　一方面，據說篤子是從齋彬處帶著政治使命被送進江戶城的。就將軍的後繼問題，當時幕府分為推崇一橋慶喜（德川慶喜）為次期將軍的一橋派，和推崇紀州慶福（德川家茂）為次期將軍的南紀派，兩派互相對立，齋彬為了讓慶喜繼承將軍而將篤子送入了德川家。但是，與當時是藩主的實子的廣大院相比，篤姬自身只不過是島津家分家的出身，一橋派大名處也有「作為御台所身份也太低了」的置疑的聲音。tvb now,tvbnow,bttvb& ]- ?' s; D; L6 b5 j
　　安政3年（1856年），篤姬成為了右大臣近衛忠熙的養女，這一年的11月作為家定的正室進入了大奧。但是，安政5年（1858年）7月齋彬突然死亡，8月家定也離開了人世，14代將軍由德川家茂就任，篤子沒有能完成使命。家定死後篤子剃髮，以後自稱為「天璋院」。
8 p+ \! B8 p" l& |; ytvb now,tvbnow,bttvb　　幕府為了促進公武合體政策，文久2年（1862年）朝廷決定將皇女和宮作為家茂的正室送入大奧。薩摩藩向天璋院提出住回薩摩國，但天璋院拒絕歸國。另外，當初進門的和宮與天璋院是一種「嫁姑」的關係，而且由於皇室出身和武家出身的差異使得兩人有著種種不和，但據說之後和解了。
