在纽卡这个英超史上最烂赛季之后，队内照样有各种评奖。官网和当地的《纪事晚报》都依据球迷投票产生了赛季最佳球员、最佳进球等奖项，结果大同小异。阿勒代斯在夏季窗口最后时刻购入的前马赛长、塞内加尔右后卫贝耶高票当选最佳球员，而恩佐比亚在联赛第3轮客战米德尔斯堡一役打入的远射则被评为最佳进球。

考虑到纽卡官网投票中有包括外国追星族在内的非本地球迷的参与，《纪事晚报》的结果或许更能反应当地纽卡球迷的看法。各奖项主要投票结果如下：

从评选结果，可以总结出几点。首先，在纽卡球迷眼中，贝耶显然是整个赛季最突出的球员，不论是最佳球员还是最佳引援，均高票当选，大大领先居于其后的竞争者。同时，恩里克在赛季初总体上不甚理想的表现后，于基冈任下夺回主力位置，发挥趋于稳定，赢得了球迷的认可，当选进步最大球员。这样看上去，纽卡的左右两闸似乎满不错的？

其次，可以看出，阿勒代斯的下课令很多球迷拍手叫好，而基冈的回归则至今深得人心。而在展望下赛季排名时，球迷和基冈保持了一致，主流观点是6－8名，压倒性多数认为时隔2个赛季排进前10没问题，压倒性多数认为时隔5个赛季重返前4没可能。

最后，纽卡球迷想买的球员中，仍是以前锋和进攻组织者为主。直到第7位，才出现了一名中后卫，即本赛季被评为苏超最佳球员的格拉斯哥流浪者的西班牙中卫奎利亚尔。

※  25日的纽卡斯尔《星期日太阳报》称，根据来自西班牙的消息，纽卡再次打起了本赛季执教桑坦德的马塞利诺·加西亚·托拉尔的主意，此人在带队取得联赛第6后，已于上周三辞职，明言要寻找一家更大的球会，并声称，除瓦伦西亚外，还有其他球队也接触过他。早在3月时，便有纽卡欲用马塞利诺接替基冈的消息。尽管后来传言平息，但据说纽卡一直通过本队的一位西班牙球探与这位42岁主帅的经纪人保持着联系。这位充当中间人的球探Longoria被认为年仅21岁，靠互联网掌握了百科全书式的足球信息，去年夏天曾为马塞利诺在引援中提供建议，目前则在纽卡技术协调官韦泰雷手下工作。

※  上周六的《太阳报》援引马丁斯侧近人士的话说，纽卡想卖掉马丁斯，“马丁斯的前途不确定。纽卡在试探其他俱乐部的兴趣有多强。他们想卖马丁斯真是令人惊讶，他们经营俱乐部的方式显然发生了改变。”此处所说的改变应是指纽卡的减薪政策。考虑到马丁斯阵营一直与《太阳报》关系亲密，此条消息很可能是他的经纪人主动给该报爆料，目的何在值得玩味。

Toon weight up Emana swoop

NEWCASTLE UNITED are believed to be in early discussions with Cameroonmidfielder Achille Emana over a potential move to St James’s Park.

The 25-year-old is also being tracked by Seville, Real Betis and WestHam, while Portsmouth have been alerted by the player’s advisorSebastien Thiery.

Emana is currently contracted to French club Toulouse until 2011, butafter the Ligue 1 outfit scraped to a disappointing 17th-place finish,in a season when they expected to build on Champions Leaguequalification the previous year, Emana wants to quit France in favourof a move to Spain or England.

Former Valencia youth product Emana could be available for as little as£5.5m and would join his Cameroon team-mate Geremi at Gallowgate.

The player’s advisor Thiery says: “Achille is ready to play in thePremier League and Newcastle is a team he would relish playing for.

“He is strong and is a box-to-box midfielder who also possesses a lot of pace.

“He has the right number of caps and the right amount of experience at25 not to be overawed by the Premier League, which would be an excitingchallenge.”

Emana’s international experience includes selection at both the 2006and 2008 African Cup of Nations tournaments, and he played alongsideToon star Geremi in this year’s final, which culminated in a narrow 1-0defeat by Egypt.

United manager Kevin Keegan is thought to be keen to bolster hisdefence first and foremost this summer, but that fact that there is aquestion mark over exactly when Joey Barton will be back at Newcastle’sBenton HQ means that the Magpies could start the season short-handed inthe midfield engine room.

United would be likely to consult their current African contingent ObaMartins, Abdoulaye Faye, Habib Beye and Geremi over the player’scharacter.

But while the player would love to move to Tyneside, there are stillplenty of twists and turns likely to be lying ahead for the Magpies.

United are considering an extensive list of players and chairman Chris Mort is yet to complete a hand-over to his successor.

That is likely to be former London gambling club owner Derek Llambias,but the Chronicle understands that an announcement on the new structureat boardroom level is not imminent.

Meanwhile, another player that United have been alerted about is French international right-back Sidney Govou.

Govou has played almost 300 games for Lyon and has 31 caps and seven goals for his country.

Yet with United well served in that position due to Habib Beye’s sparkling performances last term, a move for Govou is unlikely.

It’s also understood 28-year-old Govou is interesting Portsmouth whocan offer European football following their FA Cup final win overCardiff.

Turkish side Fenerbahce in Emre swoop                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       


TURKISH ACE Emre looks certain to quit Newcastle United in favour of a move to his native Istanbul with Fenerbahce.

Fenerbahce claim on their official website that they have reached an agreement with United and the player.

Reports in Turkey also confirmed the move, with the player’s agentAhmet Bulut said to have verified the switch with the Turkish media.

Emre is believed to have signed a lucrative three-year deal with the Turks.

The move for the former Inter Milan midfielder has caused shockwaves inhis homeland after Fenerbahce stole in to clinch the deal under thenoses of their bitter rivals Galatasaray.

Emre is currently preparing for Euro 2008 with Turkey, but he looks allset to link up with Brazilian legend Zico, who is boss of the clubknown in Turkey as the Canaries.

But his switch from St James’s Park will only go ahead if he makes itthrough the tournament unscathed, with both clubs believed to havereached an agreement – as revealed late last night on our website www.chroniclelive.co.uk.

Newcastle may recoup the majority of the £3.8m fee they paid to Interthree years ago but details of a price are yet to be confirmed byeither club.

Twenty-seven-year-old Emre – who now looks set to taste ChampionsLeague football with the Turks next season – will say an emotionalgoodbye to Newcastle but admitted the future still looks bright for theMagpies under Kevin Keegan.

And in a farewell interview, Emre says: “Newcastle have good players and finished the season with a good mentality.

“They are playing football again.

“When Kevin came to Newcastle everybody felt he had brought something different from in the dressing room to out on the pitch.

“Everything has changed for the better because of him.”

The playmaker was signed by Graeme Souness in 2005 in a move hailed as a major coup for United.

Emre won a place in the hearts of Toon fans when he whipped in awonderful free-kick against Sunderland in October 2005 in a 3-2 winwhich saw him join a very special club of goalscorers who have nettedagainst the Wearsiders from set-pieces such as Scott Sellars and LiamO’Brien.

Yet his departure will be reflected on with sadness by the majority ofthe Toon Army who saw Emre as one of the more gifted players and suitedto KK’s attacking style of play.

The Turk joined United under Souness due to the pair’s association withGalatasaray that allowed Newcastle to beat Arsenal, Manchester Unitedand Liverpool to his signature.

But injuries, allied to the frequent change of manager, meant thatconfidence player Emre was never really able to find his best form forUnited.

After Souness was sacked, Emre built up a good relationship with Glenn Roeder to help fire the club into Europe in 2006.

But under Sam Allardyce, the playmaker was never happy with the direct tactics of the former Bolton boss.

Emre was linked with a move to Bayern Munich and Hertha Berlin.

He told the Chronicle he was optimistic about his future in January butbad luck – including a red card the night KK returned in the Stoke FACup tie at St James’s – and injuries left the player feeling downbeat.

And although Keegan’s return to the club looked to have offered Emre alifeline, the Turk was plagued by injuries again after picking up acalf strain in his last game against Aston Villa.

His bad luck struck again on April 7 when he hobbled off in frustrationwith an ankle problem and shunned the media following the secondstring’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United, in which he scored awonderful equaliser.

It leaves Newcastle’s small squad decimated further after the departures of Peter Ramage, Stephen Carr and James Triosi.

But Keegan always predicted he could lose some big names.

He said earlier this month: “We might lose one or two.

“To be honest it might be in everybody’s interest that they go.

“We might lose one or two we don’t want to go.”

NEWCASTLE United are sounding out West Ham over a potential bid for Dean Ashton.

The 24-year-old is unsettled at Upton Park despite having two yearsleft to run on the contract he signed two summers ago for the eastLondoners.

Ashton has just returned from the Caribbean with England following adisappointing personal performance during the 3-0 win over Trinidad& Tobago.

But the Hammers are still keen to get Ashton, who finished as their top scorer with 11 goals last term, to sign a new deal.

Ashton is said to be disgruntled that Freddy Ljungberg, among others,is earning a substantial amount more than he is, even though theex-Arsenal ace netted just twice for Alan Curbishley’s side last season.

However, Ashton is yet to commit to a new deal, leaving Curbishley andhis board to come up with the goods or face the prospect of losingtheir prized asset.

Ashton has been compared to Alan Shearer since breaking on to the scenewith Crewe, another product of former Alex manager Dario Gradi’simpressive conveyer belt of talent which also includes David Platt,Neil Lennon and Danny Murphy.

He burst on to the scene with Norwich in 2005 in the Premier League,but his run of seven goals in the last third of the season wasn’tenough to prevent the Canaries going down.

And after City failed to regain their place in the top flight thefollowing season, despite his 17 strikes in the Championship, Ashton’sdays in East Anglia were numbered.

In January 2006, West Ham made their move to sign the player for £7.25m.

Now, though, with Ashton in contract limbo, his future is unclear.

A source close to the East End club told the Chronicle: “We know that Newcastle are interested in signing Dean.

“And Alan Curbishley is aware of this.

“There have already been a couple of rounds of contract talks with Deanbefore he went on international duty with England, but nothing isdecided.

“We think that deep down Dean might want to stay but, like any player,he wants to have a contract that reflects his performances.”

A move for Ashton would certainly give Toon fans a major lift after aquiet summer so far. However, if he does quit the Hammers, he couldcost up to £11m.

For Norwich have a 15% sell-on clause for Ashton, and this would bereflected in any transfer fee as far as West Ham are concerned,especially as the Hammers don’t have to sell their star striker as heis under contract for another two years.

Ominously for Newcastle, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson alsohas Ashton on his wish-list should other targets fall through.

Fergie has been eyeing Lyon ace Karim Benzema and today was reportedlykeen on signing Blackburn’s £15m-rated star Roque Santa Cruz.

Meanwhile, another name linked with United today was Argentine starPablo Aimar after the player was put up for sale by Real Zaragoza at£6.5m.

And The Mirror claims that Keegan has targeted the 28-year-old as theman to fill the creative void left by Emre's imminent departure to joinFenerbahce.

He may face competition for his signature, though, as Liverpool bossRafael Benitez was linked with a £10million move for Aimar in January'stransfer window, and could reignite his interest this summer.

Zaragoza, who signed Aimar for 12million Euros in 2006, cannot affordthe player's wages outside La Liga so are prepared to make a loss onhim.

纽卡中国球迷会报道（kingjohn）两周前，《纽卡日报》就称纽卡希望尽快签下加拉塔萨雷的土耳其球星阿达·图兰（ArdaTuran），但当日的《纽卡纪事晚报》否定了这项报道。昨天，《纽卡日报》再次报道：纽卡终于迈出了夏季转会市场上实质性的第一步，出价900万磅向加拉塔萨雷求购图兰。

该报称，基冈和怀斯都认为图兰能够填补埃姆雷离去后所留下的空白，这项转会也得到了老板阿什利的批准。纽卡希望在欧洲杯开战前搞定这桩交易，因此会希望加拉塔萨雷尽快做出答复。但是900万的报价（另有媒体称700万）是否为该俱乐部接受还是个问题，上周，深知球员抢手、意图哄抬价格的加拉塔萨雷主席AdnanPolat放出口风，要1300万才可以获得这位有望在欧洲杯上大放异彩的攻击型前卫。不过，由于俱乐部负债4500万磅，图兰的离开似乎是注定的。

《北部回声报》称纽卡将用出售埃姆雷所得的转会费求购利物浦左后卫里瑟。

《每日星报》再次提到了邓恩的名字，称尽管面临热刺的竞争，纽卡仍然希望获得这位曼城队长。

《纽卡纪事晚报》称如果价格合适，米尔纳也可能步埃姆雷离去的后尘。但米尔纳本人对转会流言不屑一顾，称自己的目标是随着纽卡获得冠军。

6月3日

NUFC.com报道，何塞·恩里克在接受家乡瓦伦西亚一电视台采访时，称自己享受在泰恩河畔的生活，但也不排除回到西班牙的可能。据称瓦伦西亚对他估价为700万磅，西班牙媒体还提到瓦伦西亚可能以球员加现金的方式完成转会，被搭上的球员可能是曾经被租借到埃弗顿的费尔南德斯（ManuelFernandes）或老将阿尔贝尔达。另外一个被与纽卡联系上的瓦伦西亚球员是比克劳奇甚至还高一点点的塞尔维亚长人日基奇。

纽卡当然会对利物浦的这个无理开价感到气愤。因苏亚，阿根廷小将，来自博卡青年；霍布斯1月份被租借到英冠球队斯肯索普。另外一个球员的无名程度甚至让《纽卡纪事晚报》的消息来源都想不其他的名字。

如果利物浦拿克劳奇来换，纽卡可能会坐下来听听报价；或者是里瑟，纽卡也会半真半假流露出一丝兴趣。

因为基冈曾经在赛季结束前向记者表示过自己对挪威左后卫的兴趣，但在与老板进行摊牌会议之后，足球圈里的人都相信，要和纽卡做生意，他们得找怀斯、希门尼斯而不是基冈。而怀斯主导的转会思路不是引进具有英超经验、当然薪水也不低的成名球星，而是在世界各地遍寻新星（其实有的人身价也不低）。所以现在基冈也乐得潇潇洒洒携家出游了。去欧洲杯观察球员？到转会市场发掘新星？自有他人打理。

今天的《纽卡纪事晚报》称，纽卡已经拍出1000万求购圣埃蒂安的前锋戈米斯。但也有消息说，温格也有意这位目前正在参加欧洲杯的法国新星，如果枪手的头号射手阿德巴约转投他家的话。

戈米斯最近刚刚与圣埃蒂安延长了自己的合同，但是仍然被认为有可能在欧洲杯后离开法甲，不过他曾经表示自己更希望去意甲。上个月，在他意外顶替特雷泽盖入选欧洲杯名单之后，戈米斯就在自己的成年国家队处子秀中梅开二度，帮助法国队击败了厄瓜多尔。

怀斯、希门尼斯和韦泰雷曾两次前往法国考察戈米斯，基冈和麦克德莫特之后也亲自去看了他的比赛。

如果消息属实，这不是纽卡第一次在大赛之前求购法国前锋。在98世界杯前，时任纽卡主帅达格利什就冒险签下了当时的法国队第四前锋吉瓦什，不幸的是，虽然当时空前强大的法国如愿夺得世界杯，但吉瓦什却堪称对中的最弱环节。接替达格利什的古力特很快清洗了法国人。

阿梅奥比本赛季后期被租借至斯托克城，但是并没有在该队的升级过程中发挥什么作用，自己也对球队的打法不适应，过得不舒服，所以赛季结束后并没有如开始所预料的那样永久转会斯托克城。而如果他个人愿意转会至伊普斯维奇，我们就只能在下个赛季的英冠赛场上看到阿梅奥比的身影了。

不过，稍晚的伊普斯维奇官网给出声明：“我们了解到有关伊普斯维奇与肖拉·阿梅奥比的报道，但俱乐部不会对此事做任何评论。”

另外，该报还称尽管罗德所在的诺维奇无法给出这么多的转会费，但是罗德仍没有放弃从纽卡引进阿梅奥比的希望。

《每日快讯》和《每日星报》称瓦伦西亚希望将恩里克带回西班牙，并用塞尔维亚人尼克拉·日基奇作为诱饵。自从上个夏天以950万的身价从桑坦德竞技转会至瓦伦西亚之后，27岁的日基奇并没有获得一个主力位置，但仍然被认为是欧洲的优秀前锋之一。

被租借至拉齐奥但未能赢得主力位置和转会合同的罗泽纳尔凭借自己在欧洲杯揭幕战中的稳定表现，可能会让自己欧洲杯后正式转会离开纽卡的机会增大。《纽卡日报》指出，罗泽纳尔的薪水足够基冈再引进两名防守队员，这是纽卡要清洗他的原因。而据称，法甲和意甲的球队对他有意。

Gunners eye Toon ace Shay                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        ARSENAL manager Arsene Wenger is ready to test Newcastle United’s resolve to keep keeper Shay Given at St James’s Park.

And United have responded by checking out Rangers’ Scottish international keeper Allan McGregor.

Sources both at St James’s Park and in the capital have confirmedArsenal’s interest in United’s 32-year-old Republic of Irelandinternational.

Wenger has made no secret of his admiration for Given and he is on thelook-out for a new keeper now that Jens Lehmann has joined Stuttgart.

This has left Spaniard Manuel Almunia as the only experienced keeper atThe Emirates and so Wenger’s interest in Given is understandable.

It’s probably fair to say Given is a better keeper than the former Albacete and Celta Vigo man.

While most of his United colleagues have been on holiday, Given hasbeen working away as he seeks full fitness following his herniaoperations in Munich.

Yet for the first time since Kenny Dalglish brought him to St James’Park from Blackburn for a bargain £1.5m in 1997-98, Given is not anautomatic choice.

For during his lengthy absence his stand-in Steve Harper has beensuperb, and United could be tempted to cash in on Given as a result.

Harper is one of three key players at St James’ Park whose contract comes up at the end of next season.

Michael Owen and Steven Taylor are the others, and while Kevin Keeganwould like all three tied up on longer deals, there does not seem tohave been much progress on this score.

If United do sell Given and go for McGregor they will face competitionfrom Spurs, keen on re-uniting the Rangers keeper with his former Ibroxcolleague Alan Hutton at White Hart Lane.

Two of Keegan’s initial targets for next season, Jonathan Woodgate andLuka Modric, ended up at Spurs and a third, Richard Dunne, almostjoined them.

That was before Portsmouth dangled a wage packet of £78,000 a week infront of the Republic of Ireland international and things changed atManchester City following the sacking of Sven-Goran Eriksson and thearrival of Mark Hughes.

Meanwhile, Norwich City will NOT try to hijack Shola Ameobi’s move toIpswich Town after United accepted a £3.5m package for the 26-year-oldstriker from Portman Road.

Ipswich have agreed to pay United £2m down, with another £1m onappearances and a further £500,000 if Ameobi helps them win promotion.

Glenn Roeder does not have this sort of money to spend on one player atCarrow Road, and in the meantime Ameobi is waiting to see if any otherclubs, especially in the Premier League, come in for him.

When Ameobi does go, it will mean that the new regime are breaking even in the transfer market.

For while United have spent £21m on a total of nine players they haverecouped that amount through the sale of Kieron Dyer (£7m), ScottParker (£5m), Emre (£4m), David Rozehnal (£3m) and Ameobi (£2m+).

Oba open to Gunners option

Newcastle striker Obafemi Martins has admitted he would find it hard toturn down a move to Arsenal if they attempted to sign him.



The Nigerian has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadiumthroughout the summer, and speculation over a potential transfer wouldincrease further if Gunners striker Emmanuel Adebayor completes aswitch to Barcelona.

"Arsenal is a big club that everyone wants to play for. I am thrilledand it will be nice to play for such a team," the 23-year-old told TheSun.

"But, now that I am a Newcastle player, there is nothing much to say.If it is true, both clubs would have to reach an agreement.

"Is Arsenal a good club? Yes. Would I love to play there? Probably, ifNewcastle are ready to listen to them. But if Newcastle says no, thenit'll be no."

Martins, currently on holiday, added: "Because I still have a contract,I expect the club to speak to me when I get back. I am not saying Iwant to go but, if anything happens, that's football."
