Hong Kong people, before 1990s, only think Chinese is Cantonese. ! t: q; h! i, o+ N7 K$ Iwww1.tvboxnow.comIt was wrong but we only think and talk that way.
前面松哥老婆差点被车撞那一幕,他说请以华文(华语)和我老婆道歉。而因该是 Mandarin 而 不是 Chinese,因为 Chinese 指的是华人,华族。反而 Mandarin 指的是华文(华语)。 ... / x: q- I7 V' L4 p. ~$ rkaijye1794 發表於 2012-10-27 01:01 AM

What's wrong with the word "Chinese"? The word "Chinese" has multiple implications, just like any other words like "English" , "German" and "French"~~~ When you are in a place where majority of the public speaks Cantonese (which is a local dialect of Chinese), asking a person to "Speak Chinese" means you want that person to speak in that local dialect, i.e. Cantonese in this case! 6 s& u2 T. {8 n3 g# Ytvb now, tvbnow, bttvb# m% K! I think your interpretation of "Chinese" being just a human race is far too superficial ~~~ ( R, Q' k# e/ c' Z" \* J6 L
