FABIO: I WANT TO REPAY YOU

Fabio Aurelio has spoken of his determination to finally become a Kop hero after a difficult first year at Liverpool.
A series of injuries meant the Brazilian full-back played just 25 games following his move from Valencia last season.

The campaign ended in heartache after he was forced to sit out the Champions League final because of a ruptured Achilles tendon.

However, Aurelio believes he's now ready to kick-start his Anfield career after featuring in three of the club's last four fixtures.

He told Liverpoolfc.tv: "I hope I can really make a go of things at this club now. My first year was difficult because of all the injury problems I had, but through it all I had the support of the fans and my teammates. All of this helped me a lot.

"Now I want to return these things and give them something back."

The 28-year-old added: "I'm very glad to be back. It's been very difficult. The injury happened at a time when I was in a really good moment, both in my fitness and the way I was playing for the team. My game was increasing.

"But now is not the time to think about the past, I have to look to the future.

"I feel good because I'm back and recovered in less time than we thought. I'm very happy and must thank God and the medical staff.

"I am not 100 per cent yet but I am feeling really good. After six months out it will take time and I know I can still improve."
