Russell Westbrook will undergo surgery to repair a torn lateral meniscus in his right knee.
Westbrook apparently tore his meniscus on the infamous play with Patrick Beverley. No timetable has been announced for his recovery, but this is an absolutely devastating blow to the Thunder's title prospects. Without Westbrook, OKC will rely heavily on Reggie Jackson and veteran Derek Fisher to fill the void, but this puts all of the pressure on Kevin Durant. While we won't have to hear about how many shot attempts Westbrook is taking away from Durant, there's no question this really dims the outlook of the team going forward. |
