Black Crappie Regulations:  
# Open Season: Open all year
# Limit - Sport License: 30 in your possession
# Limit - Conservation License: 10 in your possession
# Size Restrictions: No size restriction.

That fish is call Crappie or Black Crappie. Small mouth bass got a much rounded head and the Crappies got a dented head or humped shoulders
Hence that the opening season is all year round in Zone 17.

I'm let the rest to make their own judgement.

Support catch and release, limit the catch but not catch the limit.
