Rafa Benitez insists he has more than enough cover in midfield if Steven Gerrard is ruled out of this weekend's visit to Sunderland.
The Spaniard can call on Momo Sissoko, Xabi Alonso, Javier Mascherano or Lucas Leiva if his skipper is rested.
"It's clear we have a better squad and more players in this position. If we need to manage now it will be easier," the Liverpool told a press conference at Melwood on Thursday.
"Normally Gerrard would be a doubt because he has a break. I need to talk to the doctor and decide whether we have to manage or whether we can risk him." |
