[Windows] 舊intel 問題

各位大哥

我公司有一台舊P4 , 主要用來 data entry, 但越來越 slow, 請問係唔係有 virus, 定係我要加 Ram ? many thanks

有沒有install msn或其他聊天軟體,如有把他設為不常註(例如關機不要載入那軟體),定期做磁碟重組都可使之運作暢順,其實快慢各人定義唔同

Better increase RAM till 1GB or 1.5GB....
As for the HDD, do defragmentation when ur office wan close, leave it run overnite... coz usually defragmentation takes time might few hours if ur data in the HDD is large.
Restart the system once when u back to office in the next day. C whether it run smooth bit or not ..
Another point is the HDD might become slow dy, it might facing KO no longer. Can change it b4 it happen. Or either really affected by virus if ur system didnt use license Anti-Virus..

在現今的電腦環境, 你部腦真係很老,
最好緊係換過部啦.
如果金錢唔容許, 先加RAM, 再換一下HDD, 速度都會提升不少

but b4 u add the ram, u must check ur motherboard sin.

does ur old motherboard support ram more than 512mb??

cos old m/b only can support up to 512mb.

and try to do the "disk defragmenter".

the best way is reinstall the window os if it is allow. it can kill all virus and delete all unused rubbish exspecially when u uninstaling the old software.

Old PC since 2003 with P4 2.4GHz, those mobo mostly can support till 2GB RAM...

AVG PC Tuneup may help you to speed up your old PC. Please notes that any following situations will slow down you machine as well :)

1) install new software in the old machine will slow down the machine sometime as well did a lot of background process nowadays which your old machine cannot handle even the software can be run in your machine.
2) A lot of unused registry information in your old PC.
3) A lot of patches from your OS.
4) A large amount of Virus definition.
