Drogba Agent: Didier Could Join Juventus
Hot on the heels of the news that Real Madrid have decided against making a bid for troubled Chelsea star Didier Drogba, Italian giants Juventus could yet move for the striker - at least according to one of his agents...
One of Didier Drogba's agents, a Etienne Mendy, has declared that Juventus could well show an interest in the Ivorian striker.
The 29 year old is seemingly on the way out of Chelsea following the departure of former coach Jose Mourinho, with most of Europe's top clubs at least investigating the possibility of signing him.
Etienne Mendy, of course, has done his best to 'talk up' the hitman.
Speaking of the possibility of his joining AC Milan or Internazionale, he said, "It's no secret that Didier likes Milan; he often visits the city during his time off.
"But we cannot rule out the other big Italian side: Juventus."
These comments are well-timed. Alessio Secco, Juventus' Director of Football, is allegedly in London to sound out the prospect of signing Chelsea midfield Frank Lampard. A double swoop for Drogba, then, could be on the discussion agenda.
As for Drogba's current status, Mendy tried to lend an air of professionalism to proceedings.
"Obviously his relationship with Chelsea isn't as good as it was under Jose Mourinho, but Drogba is a professional and knows that he plays for a club, not a manger," intoned Mendy.
Drogba announced last week that he was set to leave Stamford Bridge due to something being "broken" at the club, but hastily retracted the remarks made during an interview with France Football magazine.
The striker arrived at Chelsea in 2004 from Olympique de Marseille.
