阿根廷國家隊教練巴迪斯達宣布，巴塞隆拿「球王」美斯將擔任國家隊正印前鋒，征戰今年7月在主場舉行的美洲盃；他卻表示不會徵召曾出席2006年及2010年世界盃的曼城隊長泰維斯     。

巴迪斯達解釋：「雖然泰維斯經驗豐富，但國家隊現時的『9號』是美斯，而且我會選擇希古恩作他的拍檔。」該教練又稱下月8日會公布最後22人名單，備戰20日與現時世界排名第50位阿爾巴利亞的熱身賽。

日本唔夠腳退出

另外，由於歐洲球會拒絕放行一眾日本國腳，上月公布如期參加賽事的日本足總落實退出；阿根廷足總則邀請了哥斯達黎加補上。
